ACTION:
The combined drug didepil blends the cenetral sedative effect of phenobarbital, succesfully copying with grand mal of epilepsy, and the M-cholinolytic effect of procyclinide, eliminating the petit mal. The effect of the combination is both additive and potentiating.

INDICATIONS:
Convulsions, mainly in all forms of epilepsy (grand and petit mal, Jacksonian and epileptic equivalents). It has a very good effect in epileptic state, in akinetic forms of epilepsy. It is also effective in eclampsia. Suitable for treatment of children.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Glaucoma, diseases of liver and kidneys, high temperature, allergy to barbiturates.

SIDE EFFECTS:
Sometimes dry mouth, vision disturbances, dizziness, skin allergic reactions. Those symptoms abate with the discontinuation of the treatment.

PRECAUTIONS:
Consideration should be given to the phenobarbital crossing the placental barrier, penetrating into the milk of breast-feeding mothers; slowing down the reactions by phenobarbital.

DRUG INTERACTIONS:
The effects of narcotic agents, analgesics and topical anesthetics are enhanced. Phenobarbital also enhances the activity of the enzymes in the hepatic microsomes participating in the metabolism of some drugs; they are quickly inactivated and thus their effect becomes weaker and shorter. Such drugs proved to be the nonsteroid antiphlogistic agents, anticoagulants, corticosteroid hormones, etc.

PRECAUTIONS:
Occupational obligations requiring sharp attention and quick reflexes must be avoided during didepil treatment.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
