PYMADIN
AMPOULE 10 MG/2 ML (0.5%) |

- COMPOSITION:
Amidopyridine hydrochloride 10 mg, in ampoules of 2 ml.
ACTION:
Pymadin possesses anticurare and analeptic effects. It is an
antagonist of nondepolarizing myorelaxants and has no
anticholinesterase activity. Pymadin facilitates transmission of
nerve impulses at the level of neuromuscular synapses, by enhancing
acetylcholine release from the motor nerve terminals innervating the
skeletal muscles, which is achieved by decreasing the sensitivity of
subsynaptic membranes to acetylcholine. It activates the
contractability of myofibris, increases the conduction velocity rate
of action potentials along the nerves and faciliates mono- and
polysynaptic reflexes in the CNS. Pymadin possesses a direct
stimulating effect on the center of respiration in the brain.
INDICATIONS:
Pymadin is indicated for the treatment of residual muscle paralysis,
being an antagonist of non-depolarizing neuromuscular blockers. It
is indicated for the treatment of neurites of traumatic, toxic or
infective origin. It is applied by ionopheresis for the treatment of
neuralgia. |
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Pymadin should not be applied in states involving increased muscle
excitability, and in case of disturbed renal function.
SIDE EFFECTS:
Rarely, allergic reactions have been reported.
DRUG INTERACTIONS:
If Pymadin is applied together with Nivalin, the anticurare effect
is increased, especially after intravenous injection.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
Pymadin is applied by intravenous injection, usually in a dose of 20
mg (after the appearance of the first breathing motion), followed,
if necessary, by 10 mg more. The effect occurs after 5-10 min.
Pymadin can also be applied by ionophoresis.
MEDICINAL FORM AND PACKAGE:
Ampoules of 2 ml, containing 10 mg (0.5 solution), in packs of 10
and 50.
STORAGE:
At room temperature (15-30° C).
EXPIRY:
