- COMPOSITION:
Chlonidine 0.15 mg
Chlorthalidone 20 mg in one tablet
ACTION:
It is a combined drug of clofazoline with the diuretic saluretine.
It stimulates alpha-2-adrenergic receptors with a subsequent
inhibition of the vasomotor center and reduction of the arterial
pressure. It slows down the rate of cardiac contractions, does not
change renal blood flow, reduces peripheral vascular resistance. The
drug has a sedative effect. Saluretine has a long-lasting effect -
up to 72 h, inhibiting the reabsorption of sodium and chlorine ions
in the tubules in approximately equivalent ratios and dehydrating
the body.
The marked synergism between the two drugs is manifested in a better
antihypertensive effect obtained from the combination.
