- COMPOSITION:
p-aminomethylbenzoic acid 50 mg in ampoules of 5 ml.
ACTION:
PAMBA is a synthetic drug with powerful antifibrinolytic action. It
inhibits the plasma factors, turning the plasmogen into fibrinolysin,
thus preventing fibrin disintegration. The antifibrinolytic effect
of PAMBA is stronger than that of the epsylonaminocaproic acid. It
possesses a good absorption from the digestive tract. After
intramuscular injetion, maximum plasma level is obtained after about
1 h and lasts for 3-4 h.
INDICATIONS:
PAMBA is indicated for treatment of bleeding due to increased
fibrinolysis: a state of shock, transfusion complications,
drug-related allergy, sepsis, hemoblastic leucosis, hemophilia. It
is applied for prophylaxis of bleeding before operations of the
prostate gland, lungs, spleen, and thyroid and parathyroid glands.
PAMBA is indicated for treatment of functional uterine bleeding,
premature tearing off the placenta, intrauterine death of the fetus,
etc. it is used as an antidote in cases of overdosing of
fibrinolytic drugs (streptokinase, urokinase and fibrinolysin). |
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Thrombosis and hypercoagulaemic phase in some kinds of coagulopathy.
SIDE EFFECTS:
Arrhythmia and digestive tract disorders.
PRECAUTIONS:
If, due to storage in a cool place, crystals are formed in the
ampoule, they should be warmed up to the body temperature by
shaking.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
PAMBA is applied through injection: intravenously 50-100 mg or
intramuscularly 100 mg, once every 24 h, for 3-4 days.
MEDICINAL FORM AND PACKAGE:
Ampoules of 5 ml, containing 50 mg, in packs of 10 or 50.
STORAGE:
At room temperature (15-30° C).
EXPIRY:
5 (five) years.
