- COMPOSITION:
Clofedanol hydrochloride 5%/10ML (1ML = 50 MG)
ACTION:
Antitussive agent, suppressing the cough reflex, with a central and
peripheral mechanism of action. It does not suppress the respiratory
center and has no sedative or hypnotic effect. It is equal to
codeine in its effectiveness, but has none of its undesired side
effects. The drug has a broncholytic and local anesthetic effect on
the bronchial mucous membrane.
INDICATIONS:
Annoying cough accompanied by inflammatory and cold diseases of the
upper respiratory pathways: bronchitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis. In
the complex therapy of pleurisy, tuberculosis, silicosis and lung
tumors. After diagnostic and therapeutic manipulations on the
respiratory system (bronchoscopy, bronchography, etc.). |
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Hypersensitivity to clofedanol.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
Antitussin is administered orally: adults - 15-20 drops, 3-4 times
daily in water, tea or juice. In more severe cases the dose can be
increased to 25 drops. Children - breast-fed babies over 6 months -
5 drops, 3-4 times daily; older children - 5-15 drops, 3-4 times
daily, depending on age.
MEDICINAL FORM MAND PACKAGE:
Vials of 10 ml 5% solution.
STORAGE:
At moderate temperature (15-30° C) in a place protected from light.
EXPIRY:
5 (five) years.
