COMPOSITION:
Salbutamol sulfate 2.41 mg in 5 ml syrup, and 2 mg and 4 mg in one tablet.

ACTION:
Synthetic betaadrenomimetic agent with a selective action on beta-2-receptors. The action of the drug is manifested immediately after the inhalation or about 15 min after its oral intake. It reaches its maximum after 2 h and lasts for about 4 h. it is due to the bronchodilation resulting from the accumulation of AMP in smooth muscle cells. It has a light effect on beta-receptors of the heart.

INDICATIONS:
Bronchospastic diseases - bronchial asthma, asthmatic bronchitis, emphysema.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Ischemic heart disease and acute coronary insufficiency, manifested organic lesions of the heart; to be cautiously used in patients with marked hyperthyroidism.

SIDE EFFECTS:
Tachycardia, anginal paroxysms, arrhythmia.

DRUG INTERACTIONS:
It decreases the action of beta-receptor blockers, enhances the toxicity of cardiac glycosides, of sympathomimetics, insulin and sulphanylurea antidiabetic agents. Cardiac rhythm can be disturbed by parallel intake with theophyllin.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
Orally administered:
Syrup - 1-2 teaspoonfuls, 3-4 times daily for adults. From half to one teaspoonful for children aged from 2 to 6 years and one teaspoonful, 3-4 times daily for children from 6 to 12 years.
Tablets - the treatment starts with a lower dose and is increased depending on tolerance and therapeutic result to attaining the desired effect. Usually: 2-4 mg, 3-4 times daily for adults.

MEDICINAL FORM AND PACKAGE:
Syrup in vials of 100 ml.
Packages of 10 tablets.

STORAGE:
At moderate temperature (15-30° C).
EXPIRY:
Syrup and tablets - 2 (two) years.
