Starting in the early 1930s as the first modern factory on the Balkan Peninsula for medicines "GALENUS" and later transformed into the "CHEMICAL-PHARMACEUTICAL PLANT" and "CHEMICAL-PHARMACEUTICAL COMBINE", today the Joint Stock Company "SOPHARMA" carries the proud heritage of their traditions and is one of the largest manufacturers of pharmaceutical products in Bulgaria.

The company investigates, develops, manufactures and supplies the markets with pharmaceuticals and pharmaceutical substances. Its production list comprises about 400 products - a broad spectrum of galenic, phytochemical, and synthetic drug forms. A major part of the products are exported simultaneously meeting the needs of the domestic market.
The Joint Stock Company "SOPHARMA" develops its production in three basic fields:

• Synthesis of pharmaceuticals (substances) including hormonal preparations
• Phytochemical production
• Manufacturing of ready-made pharmaceutical forms 9individual and combined preparations based on locally synthesized compounds or imported pharmaceutical substances.

The recently implemented new activity of the Company - gamma ray sterilization of disposable medical materials, decontamination of microorganisms, contaminated pharmaceuticals and irradiation techniques aimed at inducing structural alterations of substances proved to be very successful.
